SWA: Plein Air Watercolor Workshop, taught by Camille LaPointe-Lyons

The Society of West-Coast Artists (SWA) is pleased to host a plein air watercolor workshop, taught by Camille LaPointe-Lyons.

Students learn to create a sense of atmosphere, choose an interesting composition, plan a color palette based by the values in the environment to create a strong contrasting value to enhance the focal point. Practice painting a tree or trees in the round giving attention to how the light on the tree trunk and branches enhance the forms and cast shadows on the ground.
Camille is currently teaching at the in the Fine Art and Illustration Departments, which provides her strongest joy and her greatest sense of fulfillment. Her formal education began by earning a BFA from California College of the in Drawing and Printmaking; A Secondary Teaching Credential from California State University, Hayward in Art Education; Post-Graduate Studies: University of Valencia, Spain (oil painting), Dominican University (humanities/world culture) and San Jose State University (art education).
