San Bruno Chamber's Bumper Sticker
"Proud to Call San Bruno My Home"
SAN BRUNO — “Proud to Call San Bruno My Home.” This is the slogan of a bumper sticker that one may see in their travels in the community of San Bruno. The bumper stickers were created by the San Bruno Chamber of Commerce after the disastrous Glenview fire that happened in September of this year. They were created because of the resilience and camaraderie that the community members and businesses of San Bruno demonstrated after the tragedy.
At the Chamber of Commerce office, we received many calls and notes after the disaster-not only offerings of condolences, but offerings of support from our members and community supporters that wanted to extend help and resources to those affected by the fire. San Bruno Rotary and Lions Club, Celia’s Restaurant, Lefty O’Douls, SFO Business Centers, Never Too Latte, St. Roberts Catholic Church, In & Out Plumbing, Best Buy, Marshall Realty, Prudential Realty and Alain Pinel, Mollie Stones, Costco, Petco, Lullaby Lane, San Mateo Credit Union, Kaiser Permanente, Wells Fargo Bank, Peninsula Traffic Congestion Relief Alliance were among some of the organizations and businesses to reach out to the Chamber and provide donations and assistance to those affected by the fire.
Our members have also been committed this year to being supportive and active in the community and Chamber events. We had many members participate in our Business to Consumer Showcase this spring that was held at The Shops at Tanforan. We’ve seen many new faces at our mixers, and we have had many new members join our organization this year. We recently held our 3rd Annual Taste of the City Event in which 20 local restaurants participated to sample their cuisine at the San Bruno Senior Center. We had over 200 guests, doubling our attendance from last year. Chamber and community members also had the opportunity this year to advertise in a San Bruno Community Guide and Directory that will be distributed to all households in the community at the beginning of next year. We are also approaching the end of another season of our Farmers Market that is held every Sunday downtown on San Mateo Avenue. On behalf of the San Bruno Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors and Staff, we thank you for all of your support this year.
