A Message from our President

Greetings members, community friends, and prospective members,

As we already approach the Fall season, I’d like to take a moment and reflect on the year so far, our challenges, and all that we have to look forward to. Our members are being affected by one of the worst recessions in history as our community members retract from spending locally. Morale is down and consumer confidence along with that. We knew going into the new year that we would have to find ways to support our community and members to the fullest extent of our abilities.

When the year began we had two main initiatives- to grow membership and offer our current members more benefits in the way of networking and business showcase opportunities. For those members that joined us at our Business to Consumer Showcase at Tanforan, we thank you for your participation and hope that you will join us again next year as this event becomes more successful. As some of you may know, we have been working tirelessly with the City of San Bruno to bring a Farmers Market downtown and were so proud to announce the Grand Opening of the on June 21st. We look forward to seeing you all there on Sundays and inquiring about showcasing your business with a booth at the Market.

We are looking ahead to our Taste of San Bruno event this month and hope that your business will participate in showcasing your business, sponsorship, or attendance. It is a fun and lively event in which members and businesses of the community gather to enjoy great food and great company. We are streamlining communication and have created a monthly e-newsletter to keep our members updated with current events. Our hope is that this is an efficient and effective means of communication.

It’s been a tough year, and as business professionals and community members, we are all leaning on each other for support. During this time we have been able to grow membership without having to eliminate any of our member benefits. We encourage each of you to take advantage of the benefits of advertising and networking and look forward to seeing you at our next event! It has been a great first half of the year and we look forward to building upon our successes. As we look toward the future
